Gender selection methods

Gender selection is to manipulate the sex of your baby by scientific methods. The societies have placed an importance to know the gender of the baby before pregnancies. As a result, medical science started more researches on these gender selection methods. Some mothers believe on Chinese birth chart that predicts the gender by the mother’s age and last date of conception. Others believe by some symptoms of the baby. Different position during intercourse, nasal breathing, time of the day all contribute to the selection. Gender selection methods are used by about 3 in 14 women's to know the gender before they get conceive. It all to know that they are carrying girl baby or boy baby.

Gender selection methods are of two types: one is natural method and the other is scientific method. : Natural  method : natural gender selection method is preferred by the people though it is not proved. Clinical visit is not needed in this method. Determining the sex by some reasons like position during intercourses, nasal breathing, ovulation period and food they eat. Scientific method: Once they feel there is no use of natural method, they jump immediately to this scientific method. In this method, some clinical test will be taken to know whether they suits for this method. These tests are done for you to inform you about the essential things regard the chances of conception of the gender. This scientific baby gender selection method is costly but the Success rate is very good.

Tests that are taken for this method are: Sperm Sorting, Pre-implantation Genetic Heliotyping, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis, and Sperm Spinning. Success rate depends on age, lifestyle, and history of previous pregnancies, your ovulation and the sperm count. It is good idea to be well educated about the things that could modify the likelihood of having a baby with the gender of your choice. This method also depends on the sperm type, and determining which type of chromosome fertilized can help you to know your baby gender.

Ericsson Albumin Method

The sperm is always filtered via the albumin and after which an IUI is done along with the sample with the help of the method of Ericsson. While the sample doesn't provide you with more of one particular sex, then it does help you to know the sex of the baby.

Other Methods of Sex Selection: The other most popular methods of sex selection, including prepregnancy diets to balance the pH level or position. We can find sex by doing ultrasound scan, and genetic test, each of these are about own risks.

In India, they prefer mostly for boy’s baby’s parents for years have been using ultrasound and amniocentesis to know the sex and they are doing abortion if it is a girl baby. It seems that these technologies are earlier, cheaper and safer testing to increase the number of sex-selective abortions. India, where basic, local clinics have ultrasound machines using illegally for sex determination.
